Lunching at Ladurée
A wonderful afternoon out with friends in a wonderful setting. After living in Paris for so many years I realized that I was a Ladurée virgin. To rectify that, I decided with a few friends to treat ourselves to a ladies lunch at Ladurée. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. We reserved at table at the main restaurant on the Champs Élysées which has recently been redecorated. I was not disappointed the interior lived to and beyond what I expected. The menu is not cheap ( 40 euros for a main course and desert), but no surprise there. There was a good selection of dishes and over five pages of deserts to choose from. I was very pleased with my choice of duck with tapioca and mango. The flavors and textures of the dish were outstanding. For desert I had to order an infamous macaron. I chose a rose and raspberry, that too was delicous. For a special afternoon out with the girls it is the perfect place, I will definitely be lunching at Ladurée again.
